CPI participates at the 4th Global Youth Employment Summit (YES), Azerbaijan, 24th- 27th of September, 2008 Photo Album
YES Azerbaijan is the fourth global youth employment summit held from the 24th of September until the 27th in Baku, Azerbaijan. The global summit was generously hosted by H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan and under the Patronage of H.E. Mrs., Suzanne Mubarak, First Lady of Egypt and H.E. Mrs. Mehribeu Aliyev, First Lady of Azerbaijan.
The CPI of the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIPM), has been invited to share its objectives, ideas and methods with participants of the YES summit during a plenary on the third day of the conference. Nevine Tewfik, a member of the CPI Team and Deputy Director at the International Relations Department of MCIT made a presentation entitled ‘Youth and ICT; Engagement and Empowerment - The Cyber Peace Model’.
The presentation provided the attendees with a short overview on the establishment of the CPI, its workings, tracks and activities and its unique relationship with partners from local, national and international arenas. The presentation addressed the core objectives of empowering the youth, achieving a peaceful and supporting environment and using ICT as a cross cutting vehicle and opportunity tool to form social entrepreneurs and help spread the peace message.
Furthermore, the presentation discussed CPI’s ways of ensuring sustainability, how the initiative currently reaches out and impacts its society and how CPI wishes to connect with new potential partners to foster unique capabilities for furthering its objectives.
