Press Round Table Discussing Data Privacy Issues on the Occasion of Data Privacy Day, 28 January 2010

Data Privacy Day is an international celebration of the dignity of the individual expressed through personal information.  It is an international holiday that occurs every January 28. The purpose of Data Privacy Day is to raise awareness and promote data privacy education. It is currently celebrated in the United States, Canada, and 27 European countries.

On the occasion of  the Data Privacy Day, this year the Suzanne Mubarak Women’s International Peace Movement is organizing a press round table in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Microsoft Egypt. The round table aims at raising awareness among press members on Internet Safety and Data Privacy in response to the international Day.  The workshops are discussing the efforts exerted in the field of data protection and internet safety and security both on the international and the Egyptian levels.

The workshop is being held at MCIT, Mohandeseen, on January 28, 2010.
