Four MoUs Signed During the IGF 2009, Egypt

At the 4th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Sharm El Sheikh, H.E. Mrs. Mubarak witnessed singing memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Egypt, The Suzanne Mubarak Women’s International Peace Movement (SMWIPM) and four new partners.

Family Online Safety Institute FOSI:
The agreement includes cooperation in a number of online safety initiatives and the convening of a workshop in Egypt to explore current protection tools and identify trends in family online safety. This will enable Egypt and the region to take into account best practices and inform future strategy, in light of the Regional Arab on Line Safety Project submitted by Egypt and approved by the Council of Arab Ministers of CIT in 2009. The agreement will foster the exchange of expertise and knowledge sharing between FOSI and CPI.

IBM Corp.:
The MoU was signed with the purpose of training and developing human resources and enhancing online content.

Microsoft - 2CENTER:
The MoU aims to establish two centers of excellence for research, training and education, with the participation of law enforcement, academia and university.

Oracle:
The MOU signed in the framework of the Cyber Peace Initiative, aims to establish synergies between the parties to develop an online learning project in addition to hold Egypt-wide online project learning competitions for students aged 9-17 years old.
